Johnathan Roberts, PE
Johnathan Roberts, PE has gained extensive experience in civil engineering design and management since he graduated with honors from the University of Georgia in 2004. His design experience includes roads, site planning, subdivisions, pump stations, drainage, water, sewer, and NPDES. He has successfully managed hundreds of projects from conception through final completion including design, production, bidding, and construction. His enthusiasm and dedication for engineering has helped Roberts Civil Engineering become the leading consulting firm for quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Director of Civil Engineering Design
Wesley Franks is a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology. Mr. Franks began his engineering career in 2007 and has been working with Roberts Civil Engineering since 2010. He has performed civil engineering design associated with commercial, residential, and municipal projects. He has experience with storm water management facilities, road design, water and sewer systems storm water monitoring and erosion control systems. He has performed design work with various computer modeling software applications including StormCad, HydroCad, WaterCad, HY-8 and AutoCad Civil 3D.
Director of Construction Services
Bert Etheredge earned a B.S. from Georgia College and State University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. He has demonstrated wide-ranging site design skills that include road geometry, grading, cut/fill balancing, lot layout, cost estimation, hydrological analysis, retention and detention pond design, sanitary sewer and water distribution system design. Mr. Etheredge has participated in the design of several subdivisions over 500 lots and many multi-family and commercial developments. While at ASHRAE Mr. Etheredge participated in the development of Standard 189.1, Standard 90.4 and National Association of Home Builders NGBS/ASHRAE/ICC 700. He also assisted in the development of several of ASHRAE’s AEDGs.
Director of Municipal Services
Paul Christian is a Project Manager for local government projects and has over 11 years’ experience in Glynn County and Pierce County serving as the Assistant County Manager and County Manager respectively. His experience makes him an invaluable resource for helping counties and cities oversee projects. He has successfully administered road projects and site development projects from water parks to office buildings. He has a keen awareness of cost control due to his experience overseeing county budgets ranging from nine million to fifty-five million dollars annually. Experience with county budgets has given Mr. Christian a unique ability to help his customers complete projects under budget.
Regional Manager - Savannah
Tom Kennedy earned his Engineering Degree from the State University of New York, and an MBA from Penn State University. After spending the early part of his career working for Ingersoll-Rand and GE in various engineering project and program management positions, he decided to establish a real estate development company that grew to prominence in Pennsylvania and Ohio. In addition to experience developing residential communities, commercial office buildings, medical facilities and a portfolio of hotels, he has served on the Boards of Municipal Authorities (Water, Metropolitan Transit), Private Companies (Erie Bank, Altair, PBC, PDA) and Community Organizations (Board of Realtors, Penn State Council of Fellows, Gaudenzia).
Ernie Crussel has over 35 years’ experience in various operations in municipal infrastructure to include storm drainage, base and paving, water, waste water, bridges, design and construction. He has management experience gained in water treatment, water distribution, waste water collection and waste water treatment plant. Additional responsibilities included conducting annual budgets and reviewing systems with the State of Georgia Environmental Protection Division. Mr. Crussel has participated in the review of infrastructure design as they relate to functionality and installation, as well as the review of Roberts Civil Engineering estimates as provided by contractors and the review of infrastructure construction.
Jonathan McDill is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology and obtained his EIT in 2008. Mr. McDill began his engineering career in 2007 and has worked as a Civil/Structural engineer, Warehouse Construction Project Manager, and Utility Power Engineer prior to starting with Roberts Civil Engineering in 2017. He has engineering design experience associated with commercial, residential, and municipal projects. His experience includes working with software applications such as Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and StormCAD.
Jeff Bors is a Project Manager with proven success overseeing projects for municipal and private sector clients. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University and has developed an exceptional aptitude for assessing needs allowing him to prioritize multiple projects while delivering an elite-level of client satisfaction. Jeff has experience in coordinating government resources by exploring loans or grants that may be available to clients. In project administration, Jeff customizes a plan to coordinate essential research, surveying, planning, design and oversight while continuously aligning with regulatory and budget compliance. Jeff employs a personalized attentiveness to clients whereby he anticipates needs to reduce costs and expedite timelines.
Jay Baisden is a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a B.S., Civil Engineering Technology. In addition, he holds a M.S., Engineering Management, and M.S., Environmental Science both from Marshall University. Mr. Baisden started his career in 2006 and has obtained a vast array of skills and knowledge. Among these are specification writing and development, construction inspection, asphalt paving inspection, blasting practices and inspection, surface and underground mining layout and design, volumetric calculations, drainage design and calculations, stability analysis, as-built design certification and civil layout and design. He is confident in AutoCad Civil 3D, Carlson Suite for AutoCad, HydroCad, SedCad, REAME Stability analysis and the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher. In addition to these skills, Mr. Baisden has experience in training small to large groups on various subjects related to his field.
Lynda Stoyer is an accomplished administrative professional with over 20 years’ experience assisting project managers with administrative support. She applies proven organizational skills and excellent attention to detail to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks in demanding environments. She uses strong communication and creative problem-solving abilities to resolve Roberts Civil Engineering business issues in collaboration with representatives of diverse departments. She is a proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook), QuickBooks, and is adept in Internet routing programs such as Internet Explorer.
Christie Copelan is a valuable member of our team with over 20 years of professional experience. She is instrumental in the preparation of bid documents, permitting applications, cost estimates, notices, and key project management milestones. Her strengths include organization, thoroughness, and efficiency. She is a team player and an invaluable resource to our project managers. She is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks.
